Our Expert Guides will take you on an incredible kayaking adventure, crossing the Andes Mountains and traveling towards the sea.
Traditionally called the Valley of Life, this place stands out for its climate, history, and people - full of contrasts and culture. We invite you to enjoy “Señor Río”, which along the way, will show us an infinite variety of birds, such as pink flamingos, ducks, black-neck swans, and more, as we journey from the river's source in Neuquén to almost its end, in the city of Viedma.
Every four years, this river hosts more than eighty competitors from all over the world, when the most popular Olympic race is held in its waters. Created by the union of two mountain rivers, the Limay and the Neuquén, the Black River crosses semi-desert Patagonian territory, as it rushes through the deep valley that extends from west-northwest to east-southeast. This river is an oasis of deep, rich soil, encased in the plateau.
From Neuquén, we'll head towards the Black River where we'll become acquainted with our kayaks and the rest of the group while we pack up all our equipment. After a brief talk on kayak safety and orientation, we'll be ready to embark on our trip. The natural outlet of Lake Nahuel Huapi, "Tiger Island" in Araucaria language, is the Limay River, which joins the Neuquén River to form the Black River, and eventually empties into the Atlantic Ocean.
Join us for this unforgettable, once in a life time experience!
Note: A healthy physical condition is required, as well as knowing how to swim. No previous experience required. Tour runs from September until April, and will not be cancelled or changed due to rain or snow.
