At more than 2,600 meters above sea level, this old mining settlement was founded in the seventeenth century by Spanish conquistadors and Jesuits in search of minerals. It was them who named the place "Paramillos" meaning "little desolate place".
During this excursion, we'll visit the former mining town's buildings, while discovering its hidden corners, filled with centuries-old tales and legends. We'll explore three levels of the mine: "Chile", "Sauce", and "Gobernador", familiarizing ourselves with the different types of exploitation miners once used. Here, we'll move from level to level by rappelling approximately 20 meters, pushing off the cave walls as you lower yourself to the next section. This will also allow you to better observe streaks of various minerals and elements in the rocks.
To top off our entertaining excursion, you'll enjoy a delicious traditional "Asado Mendocino" where you'll delight in sampling a variety of savory BBQ dishes at the town's post, sure to be a memorable gastronomic experience.
