Our Expert Guide will take us on a hiking expedition to Mount Negro, on trails framed by the continuing transition of incredible landscapes, the historic presence of the Inca Empire, and current native cultures.
As we take our first steps in the famous Quebrada del Toro, we'll be surrounded by spectacular views while we make our way towards the Incahuasi Valley. Following the old Inca trail, we'll transition into a mountainous forest environment, just a few kilometers from the city of Salta.
On the first day, we'll arrive by car to the town of Pasha, on a journey that will take us about 3 hours. We'll visit the "House of the Inca" which showcases an ancient Inca throne, over 500 years old, built for the Inca "tax collector". We will also explore Abra de la Cruz on a 5 hour hike. Here is where a war between the Incas and the Spanish took place due to the Spanish governors increasing taxes.
From Abra de la Cruz, where we camped for the night, we'll head out on a 6 hour journey to Quebrada del Astilleros. Here we will explore sub-Andean nature, surrounded by unforgettable scenery, while in the midst of a complex, and increasingly delicate, ecosystem. After visiting this unique location, we'll return to Salta (1 hour).
Join us on an expedition through trails full of history and unforgettable scenery!
