Our Expert Guides will lead you on a fascinating city tour through Santa Catarina Island as you uncover it's gastronomy, culture, ecology, marine landscapes, and unmatched charm. Florianopolis, or Floripa (as it is affectionately called by many) enchants in a way that most visitors can’t wait to return to the island after their first glimpse. This picturesque place combines the bustle of big cities with the tranquility of a fishing village as few Brazilian places are capable of doing.
We will begin our exciting journey by exploring the north side of the island. This area features the most organized infrastructure as well as alluring historical sights which tell the tales of Santa Catarina's imposing fortifications including São José da Ponta Grossa Fortress. Here, we will also visit the luxurious Jurere neighborhood as well as the authentic Santo Antonio de Lisboa neighborhood.
Next, we'll head to the east and the famous Conceição Lagoon, known for it's perfect conditions for practicing water sports while staying close to nature. Afterwards, we'll move on to the Joaquina Beaches, which in contrast to the emerald lagoon, boasts great waves for surfing. Before hopping on a fishing boat to check out Costa da Lagoa, we'll spend some time exploring the eastern island's spectacular ancient archaeological sites which uncover a distant past where human beings lived very differently from today.
Finally, we'll continue on to the island's south end, where we can really get in touch with nature and immerse ourselves in the region's most environmentally unspoiled and culturally preserved region. Here, we'll encounter fishing communities thriving on the pristine beaches where they once practiced whale hunting. You'll also have the opportunity to visit a wild animal rehabilitation center and observe a variety interesting native flora and fauna.
Join us and immerse yourself in the past, present, and future of Florianopolis while learning about its captivating cultural, historical, and environmental heritage.
