Our Expert Guide will lead you on an entertaining hike along the Costa da Lagoa Trail as you uncover ancient Azorean culture, which continues to be preserved today, historical constructions, and magnificent natural landscapes.
Our journey begins in the community of Costa da Lagoa, in a Cultural Preservation Area, where we will delve into the region's remaining Atlantic Forest which twists and turns along the beautiful turquoise coastline. Here, we'll find some of the region's most enticing native flora, fauna, and geology which make up a one-of-a-kind ecosystem.
As we marvel at the pristine views, we will begin to come across one of the last redoubts of Azorean culture, where fishermen and lace makers still live as their ancestors once did. Not only will you have the chance to observe communities which are preserving this rich culture, but you'll also explore ruins of ancient buildings and flour mills.
Join us and jump head first into the fabulous natural and historical heritage that surrounds Florianopolis' Costa da Lagoa.
Note: Difficulty: Level 3. 6 hour duration and 6 km walk with boat return.
