Our Expert Guides will take you on an amazing journey through the rural town of Vicuña.
Located in the province of Elqui Valley, Vicuña is a small village of narrow roads, one lane bridges, and early 1900's colonial houses, engulfed by the fresh air of Chile's countryside. Its wonderful climate, and almost always clear skies, invite you to enjoy life outdoors, which includes gazing at the brightly shining stars from La Serena's astronomical center in the middle of nature.
On this tour, we will also visit the town's cathedral, Bauer Tower - where the city is said to have been born, and the Museum of Gabriela Mistral, the famous poet and Nobel Prize Winner in literature who was born here 1889. You will learn about Gabriela Mistral's history, read her poems, and visit the small house where she was born. Finally, we'll top off our journey with a refreshing traditional ice cream at a local artisan shop.
