Our Expert Guide will lead you on a culinary experience in Chile’s sacred Maipo Valley, sure to be a one of a kind excursion.
You'll enjoy learning about the preparation, stories, and history of Maipo Valley’s famous lamb dish! You'll watch and take part in the entire process, and even have the chance to learn how to properly knead bread, cook on the grill, and prepare Choripan.
You will also be able to taste local cheeses, artisan wild paté, and arrollado huaso. Of course, this will all be accompanied by magnificent Chilean wines! The cooking and preparation process takes approximately 4 hours. During this time, we will tell stories of ancient times, the region, and the history of this important meal in Chile and the Maipo Valley, including the folklore that surrounds this lamb dish.
The tradition of cooking lamb comes from the Mapuche Indians, called Nachi. Part of the process of preparing this meal is to marinate the lamb with coriander, merquen, garlic, onion, and salt. You will learn about these ancient traditions and processes, and then be able to enjoy tasting your creating once its finished.
