We start our tour at the south of Medellin, at a cemetery called Jardines de Montesacro, where lies the remains of the drug dealer Pablo Escobar, his cousin Gustavo Gaviria and his partner Griselda Blanco, we'll talk about one of the most bloody and saddest chapters of all the history of Colombia, and also visit the Monaco building, one of his properties that was bombed by the Cali Cartel. We'll have a little stop at the “Assassins Virgin”.
We'll go through the Golden mile that is the finance area of Medellin towards Pueblito Paisa, a big scale replica of Antioquia’s culture, where we´ll have a delicious snack with an extraordinary view of all Medellin. We'll continue our tour to the west of Medellin, to the house where Pablo Escobar died, we'll talk about the controversial death of the capo and its consequences. Very close by there is one of the most important cable cars that goes through comuna 13, it used to be one of the most violent areas of Medellin and today is symbol of change and hope, here we'll perceive the other face of Medellin but simultaneously be witness of the essence of its transformation: the social inclusion projects, that consist on including the forgotten and marginalized society for many years, into the progress of the city.
We’ll continue through all the avenue of San Juan where we can see EPM (Public enterprises of Medellin), Liberty Plaza, Alpujarra´s Administrative center, Lights park, barefoot Park, Medellin´s old train station and our last stop would be Plaza Botero, a square where our artist Fernando Botero donated 23 big scale sculptures and change all the bad aspect and today is one of the most visited places by the tourists.
