Our Expert Guide will take you on a 3-day journey, deep into the Amazon Jungle as you cruise along winding rivers, discover marvelous flora and fauna, and learn all about the culture, traditions, and practices of a native Amazonian tribe.
We'll kick off our excursion in the morning when we leave Iquitos and set out downstream on the Amazon River. As the Amazon meets the Nanay River, you'll observe a spectacular color change in the water, as well as curious grey and pink dolphins playing alongside our motorboat. Soon after, we'll arrive at a village called Florido where we will visit a paiche and lizard hatchery. Here, you'll be able to photograph the lizards, paiches, and "victorias regias", the largest aquatic plant leaves in the world. Then, we will continue down the river until we reach the Explorer Lodge, where you will spend 3 days in a room of your choosing, followed by a delicious lunch in the jungle. That afternoon we'll cross the Amazon to visit the native Yahuas people. In their community we'll gain a better understanding of their culture, dances, and beliefs, and even purchase beautiful handicrafts. Afterwards, we'll return to our lodge where we'll watch a vibrant sunset followed by an optional evening hike.
On the second day, we'll wake up bright and early, enjoy a hearty breakfast, and sail to an anaconda serpentarium where you'll be able to observe the magnificent creatures, and photograph them along with other spectacular Amazon species, such as toucans, macaws, a variety of monkeys such as beautiful choros pichicos, friars, and more. After exploring the Amazon's lively fauna, we'll delve into its spectacular flora. As we discover a pharmacy full of natural medicines, we'll even have the chance to taste aphrodisiac drinks made with medicinal jungle plants. Once we've worked up an appetite, we'll refuel with a tasty lunch and head deeper into the jungle to visit some of its biggest trees and most beautiful flowers on our way to a town called Timicurillo where we will get an inside look on life in the jungle. After dinner, our knowledgeable guide will share fascinating Amazonian stories with us, deepening the mysteries of the forest.
Our final day begins with breakfast and piranha fishing, followed by a swim in the Amazon River surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Lastly, we'll visit a "trapiche" where you'll learn the artisan way of extracting sugar cane juice. We'll finish off our incredible journey with one last lunch together before packing up and returning to Iquitos.
Join us for a fascinating 3-day journey, exploring the ins and outs of the magical and mysterious Amazon jungle, full of curious creatures, incredible flora, and magnificent people.
