Our Expert Guide will lead you on an unbelievable 3-day journey, exploring the wild Peruvian jungle where you'll experience sailing hours down Amazonian rivers leading deeper and deeper into the trees and discovering unimaginable flora and fauna found in few other places in the world.
The adventure begins as we depart from the city of Iquitos and travel to Nauta in a private car. The excitement will start to set in as you observe modern day civilization slowly fading away, and the powerful jungle growing ever nearer. Upon arrival in Nauta, we'll board a motor boat and cruise down the Marañón River, delving deeper into the lush forested landscapes. After about three and a half hours on the river, we'll arrive at Buenos Aires, our base in the National Reserve. Once we've set up camp, we'll sail for another 25 minutes to Huaylla Lake to admire a number of birds such as shanshos herons, camungo, and both grey and pink river dolphins. In the evening we'll have the chance to explore our surroundings and observe tarantulas and a wide variety of other insects and rodents.
We'll kick off the second day with a hearty breakfast followed by another three hours motor boating down the river. This time, we'll be sailing to Iricahua, where we'll set up our campsite. In the evening, we'll journey on a special night hike. During this hike, you'll have the unique opportunity to see different types of birds, turtles, possibly anacondas, rodents such as capybaras, and even alligators.
On the third day of our expedition, we'll spend the morning fishing for piranhas and other types of jungle fish. After breakfast, we will embark on a birdwatching excursion, observing prehistoric birds such as the camungos, herons, martin pescador, and eagles, while taking in all we can of our last few hours in the lush Peruvian jungle landscapes before we return to Nauta, followed by Iquitos, closing the book on our magical nature journey.
Join us for 3 days jam-packed with alluring wildlife, dreamlike landscapes, and unforgettable experiences which you can only find in Peru's dazzling Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.
