Our Expert Tour Guides will lead you through San Francisco's Mission District, a neighborhood that some deem the heart and soul of San Francisco! Sprawling, urbane, and sunny, San Francisco's Mission District is the cities first real neighborhood, but yet, it's an area all but unknown to most visitors - yet its endless treasures abound!
This amazing and informative tour will begin at a Golden Fire Hydrant, and then will wind its way through Dolores Park; an original Ohlone seasonal village, two Jewish Cemeteries, and many more famous sights!
You will hear the story of how the great fire of 1906 was stopped on 20th Street, an infamous street, where one side of the street is considerably older than the other.
You will travel up and across Liberty Hill to view the stately Victorians, stroll vibrant Valencia Street, where we will see a miniature park dedicated to the Triceratops, and then on to see The Women's Building, B'nai David Temple, hidden gardens, and an alleyway or two of stunning murals.
After paying our respects to the location of the "burrito birthplace", and buzzing through the exciting area of 16th and Valencia, we're off to the "El Camino Real", past the old bull fighting ring turned girl's school turned retirement home, a gay synagogue that houses a Menonite community, a German speaking Lutheran church, and then we will end our tour exploring the Missión San Francisco de Asís- commonly known as Mission Dolores. If you choose, you will have the opportunity to tour the Mission, which is the oldest building in San Francisco!*
Come join us on a historic tour of San Francisco's Mission District, learn about hidden sights & gems, and see the neighborhood through the eyes of a local!
